Jasmin Corniel didn't stumble into coaching, she was built for it.
It started at age 5 with a soccer ball and never stopped. By 15 she was representing the region as one of the top 18 players in Region 1. By 18 she had a full Division I scholarship to Fairfield University, where she was named MAAC Preseason Player of the Year and went on to earn NSCAA All-Northeast Region and All-MAAC First Team honors, leading the Stags in scoring with 10 goals and 25 points.
After college she didn't walk away from the game, she leveled up. Jasmin earned a spot with the Boston Breakers during their 2015 NWSL preseason and competed with the Breakers Reserve team in the WPSL, finishing as one of the team's top scorers with 7 goals and 2 assists on an undefeated regular season squad.
Then she did something most elite athletes never do, she went back to school. Not just any school. A Master's degree in Special Education, driven by a calling to serve kids who are often overlooked and underestimated. With nearly a decade in classrooms from Pre-K to 5th grade, dual New York State certification in Special Education and Early Childhood Education, and extensive experience working with children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, sensory processing challenges, and developmental delays, Jasmin brings something to the field that no other coach in Houston can offer.
